Maine FIRST Robotics Coalition
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Maine FIRST Robotics Coalition is a group of allied FIRST Robotics teams, all of which are from the state of Maine. This alliance was officially initiated in March of 2006. There are currently four teams which make up this alliance.
[edit] Background
Within the FIRST games, there has always been, and always will be an element of teamwork and alliance. At the competition, teams must determine the strengths and weaknesses of all teams present, and best try to advertise their own robot's skills and abilities. This process, although formed on good intentions, usually ends up a battle of social engineering and blunt advertising. During the 2006 Aim High challenge, a few members of Northern Force, Team 172 attempted to contact other local teams, in hopes of forming an "All Maine Alliance." Unfortunately, this plan was not a success, although 3 out of four Maine teams did make it to the final rounds. After the competition, the FIRST Maine Alliance was officially born.
