Makedonski Železnici (Македонски железници, MŽ, Macedonian Railways) is the railway company of Republic of Macedonia. It operates the railways and maintains over 900 km of lines, 315 km of which are electrified.

The main north-south line from Belgrade, Serbia, to the port of Salonika, Greece, on the Aegean Sea, passes through Skopje.
Intercity trains link Skopje with Serbia and Greece.

In the planning stage is a project to construct a new east-west line, which would connect Varna, Bulgaria, on the Black Sea, with Durres, Albania, on the Adriatic Sea.
