It should not be deleted yet. Give it some time. words and phrases need time to evolve. This phrase has been around for a while, it may be a "relatively" new term, but the practice has been known for a while. at the University of Western Ontario, the "fathers" of the term have herd many people use it in natural conversation, so we figured we would officially share it with the rest of the world. This term is pretty good, (little bit biased,) as it describes the action with accuracy. I am sure that someone has used the term in other ways, or in the same way but they are free to add to the article.. the more definitions the better. After googling it I found several references to makeout bandit, heck, you can even buy a pin with a Zorro style mask with lipstick lips on it saying makout bandit.
all phrases start some time... this isnt really an "original work" but how on earth could you source something that cant really be studied?? phrases like "the shocker" is that sourced?? NO. but its accepted. Sure they have an external link of guy writing on the shocker, but that article refers to the wikipedia definition.
Is it just because YOU havent herd of the term?? Im sure that i have not herd of many terms that are on wikipedia, but thats what its for, to share knowledge. Am i going to have to wait 8 years to post this article? maybe by then you have herd of it...
