- It is not, on its own, enough for fair use. The original picture and stating that the console is available in different colours, adequately conveys this information - so multiple fair use images are not required. See WP:FUC. ed g2s • talk 15:53, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use criteria
- "No free equivalent is available or could be created that would adequately give the same information ... if the subject of the photograph still exists, a free photograph could be taken"
- Free photos could easily be taken, or colour samples created, which would give the same information.
- "The amount of copyrighted work used should be as little as possible."
- Using several fair use images to illustrate a minor point is hardly as little as possible.
- "The image or media description page must contain:
- Proper attribution of the source of the material, and attribution of the copyright holder (if it is different) where possible.
- An appropriate fair use tag indicating which Wikipedia policy provision permitting the use is claimed. A list of image tags can be found on the Wikipedia:Image_copyright_tags#Fair_use page.
- For each article for which fair use is claimed, the name of the article and a "fair use rationale" as explained in Wikipedia:Image description page. The rationale must be presented in a manner that can be clearly understood and which is relevant to the article in question.

That no-one has bothered to source free images is not an excuse to fill in the gap with unfree images ([1] paragraph 5). And I reiterate, fair use claims must be made full before placing the images in an article. ed g2s • talk 16:15, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The Practical Mecha Section
...in the Mecha article (all of it) is going to be removed as blatant original research, by yours truly, fairly quickly unless I am given an ironclad reason why it should remain. "Concise and NPOV", or "useful information" are meaningless when you take into account the fact it is non-factual and basically an extended, speculative essay. You seem to be one of the big supporters of it, so I figured I'd give you fair warning.
And if I don't get a decent rationale, I'll fight a revert war until the Big Rip if I have to. Kensai Max 15:36, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

Your edit was reverted. I agree the page you editted was far supierior. However, an admin removed such info for...various reasons only he understands, so whatever the case, the page is to remain as it is. Trust me, I've talked to him, he doesn't give a crap. Sorry. I have just run a Google search. "Impact winter" gives ~32000 hits, as compared to 800-900 for "Cosmic winter". That is a 30-40:1 disparity. In scholarly papers, impact winter is used almost exclusively. "Cosmic winter" has been used only once, in the popular astronomy work by Clude & Napier in 1990.
