Mandapeta is a city and a municipality in East Godavari district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.
Mandapeta was originally called Mandukyapuram, and it got that name because of Sage Mandukya who is supposed to have stayed at this place for sometime. Sage Narada is supposed to have done "Prathisthapana" of the idol in "Janardhana Swamy Temple" popularly known as "Radham Gudi" today.
