Maniae (mythology)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Greek goddesses of the madnesses, they probably consisted of Mania (Insanity), and Lyssa (Rabies). They were thought to be the daughters of Nyx, and the nurses of Eros (though this may just have been metaphorical for Eros's cruel ways). However, sometimes, they were said to be spirits associated with the Erinyes.
