[edit] Fair use rationale
- Person no longer makes public appearances since her legal controversy. I suppose someone could stalk her and catch her at the grocery store, but that actually violates laws where fair use does not. CyberAnth 09:08, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- Given the above, it seems unreasonable to expect that a free image will become available. I think the image should stay. Nick Graves 16:23, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- I see no reliable source that she is actually a recluse. This is not J. D. Salinger we're talking about here. There's no reason to believe that she wouldn't provide a freely licensed photo or allow any sympathetic photographer to take one if she was contacted, so there's no argument that this photo is not replacable. It should be deleted. — coelacan talk — 21:40, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
- Yea, it's Mary Pride. I have emailed her multiple times and mailed her twice in the past year to get such a photo. The request is never answered. Again, I point everyone to the legal controversy as reason for why this photo is not replacable. CyberAnth 00:29, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
- In addition, there is evidence suggesting coelacan's nomination of this image is a bad faith one. He nominated the Mary Pride page for deletion[1] and all of its images [2] while his contribs indicate that he regularly edits pages that have images of living persons that are clear-cut cases for replacability.[3][4][5][6]. Mary Pride is a founder of Quiverfull, a page where coelacan has made troublesome edits, e.g., this, and stated regarding them, "I thought the core of their beliefs was to fuck without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17 [7]). You know, 'keep your wife's quiver full'"[8], which can in no way be construed as good faith. What this all is really about is about WP:HARASS. CyberAnth 09:46, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
