Marburg multiple sclerosis, also known as malignant, acute or fulminant multiple sclerosis, is one of the multiple sclerosis borderline diseases, which is a collection of diseases clasified by some as MS and by others as different diseases. It took its name from Otto Marburg.
It can be diagnosed in vivo with an MRI[1]
It is usually lethal, but recently it has been found to be responsive to Mitoxantrone[2]
