Mark J. Sullivan

Mark J. Sullivan is the current Director of the United States Secret Service.[1] Sullivan succeeded W. Ralph Basham and was sworn in as the 22nd Director of the Secret Service on May 31, 2006. Born in Arlington, Massachusetts, he is the oldest of six children. Sullivan began his Secret Service career as a special agent assigned to the Detroit Field Office in 1983. Mark Sullivan has received numerous awards for superior performance throughout his 22 year tenure with the Secret Service and his 27 year career in federal law enforcement. He was recently awarded a 2005 Distinguished Presidential Rank Award. Mark Sullivan attended the Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire where he received his bachelor's degree. He is married to the former Laurie Bell and has three children.
