The City of Maroondah is a Local Government Area in Victoria, Australia. It is located in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. It's estimated population in 2004 was 100,943 persons.
The name Maroondah comes from an Aboriginal word meaning 'leaf', because of the area's green façade.
The City of Maroondah was created through the combination of the Cities of Ringwood and Croydon, along with other smaller suburbs, in December 1994.
