[edit] Hunnuli Series
The Hunnuli series is based on the concept of magically bred horses (the Hunnuli) who choose and protect "good" sorcerers. Hunnuli are large, black and elegant (a sort-of reverse of Mercedes Lackey's Companions) with a white lightning-bolt marking on their shoulder. Hunnuli are immune to magic and are fully sentient and can communicate telepathically with their sorcerer or sorceress.
Gabria A young girl is the only survivor of the massacre of her nomadic clan by an evil sorcerer in a time when any use of sorcery is banned and considered to be the greatest of evils. With the help of a revered Hunnuli mare, Gabria must take revenge for her clan's deaths, and in the process bring magic back to the Clans.
