Massacre in Trhová Kamenice

Massacre in Trhová Kamenice happened in 8 May 1945. German army escaping from Chrudim back to Germany passed through the Trhová kamenice where they decided to punish supposed partisans. Near the village they killed first five villagers, Bedrřich Mareš was one of them.
On the village borders germans found young Marie Pilařová returning from the visit of her relatives, they shot her instantly. Then germans entered the village and in the church they captured vicar Oldřich Kučera and brutally tortured him to death.
Germans previously captured four hostages in the near village Rohozná, Jaroslav Kvapil, Jan Michek (a 17 years old boy), Janko Trudič and Antonín Novák, they executed them near the house number 6. In nowadays there is a monument remembering bestial behaving of german troops.
Under the near hill Třešňovka germans shot escaping Antonín Alinč, Adolf Zábský and Emanuel Kacafír. They are burried in the Trhová Kamenice cemetery.
The guilty of the massacre of innocent villagers were never judged.
