Mat Mania (Exciting Hour in Japan) is a professional wrestling arcade game created by Taito. The game is played with one or two players.

The Taito Wrestling Association is looking for a top contender for the TWA World Title. Players play as Dynamite Tommy stepping into the ring against formidable opponents to meet the TWA Champion.

- DYNAMITE TOMMY: He is the player's character. He wears blue trunks and white boots.
- INSANE WARRIOR (INSANE WORRIER in Exciting Hour): Shades of The Road Warriors, this wrestler is all about pure power.
- KARATE FIGHTER: This wrestler (who more likes a Kung Fu fighter) focuses in on martial arts techniques and quick strikes. His style is similar to the Great Kabuki. He also bears a resemblance to Chin Taimei of Double Dragon fame.
- COCO SAVAGE: Almost similar fighting style to Bobo Brazil, this wrestler has an unorthodox and unpredictable fighting style consisting mostly of head-butting, shoulder tackles and the giant swing. Quite possibly the most difficult opponent to beat in the game.
- THE PIRANIA: A masked wrestler who uses illegal tactics and cheating to win his matches.
- GOLDEN HULK (BLUES BLOODY in Exciting Hour): The TWA World Champion uses his strength and skill to overpower his opponent. Shades of Bruiser Brody. In some versions of the game, the world champion changed to reflect the rise of Hulkamania. Bloody's boots remained intact.

[edit] Mania Challenge
Taito releases a game called Vs. Mania Challenge for two players and added HURRICANE JOE as player two. Hurricane Joe wears red turnks and black boots and shares the same moves as Dynamite Tommy. Also, the sequel allowed players to counter headlocks with either a back suplex or an atomic drop.
