Matt Vanda

Matt "The Predator" Vanda is a Super Welterweight boxer in East Saint Paul, Minnesota, where he was born and raised.

Vanda attended Harding High School, a working-class school with a large population of poor or disadvantaged white students. It was in high school that Vanda began his amateur boxing career.

Vanda's first fight as a professional boxer was on on March 30th, 1996 against Ed Fuller in Kearney, Nebraska. Vanda won by knockout in the second round. Vanda showed great potential as a young pro, finally returning to St Paul for his fourth professional bout, a win against Angel Louis Salgado. Vanda won his first 11 fights by knockout, and was undefeated in his first 31 professional fights, garnering national attention.

Vanda is an fighter of the orthodox style. At this writing, Vanda's professional record is 35-3 (21 knockouts) and he is ranked 14th among Super Welterweights by the WBO. His most recent fight was a loss to Anthony Bonsante before 8872 fans at Target Center in Minneapolis in January 2007, and his next fight is scheduled for April 6, 2007 against Kenny Kost (11-3) in Minneapolis.
