[edit] Block

As far as I can see, you're only reason to be on Wikipedia is to try to impose your point of view on Catalonia-related articles. I have restored your talk page so that other admins can see how many times you have been warned about your behavoiour since you first edited in October 2006. I have long hesitated from taking this line of action because I believed that you have a legitimate interest in these articles; so long as you refuse any discussion, and continue in your current line of petty abuse against individuals and groups of editors, you will be subject to longer and longer blocks. You have shown your ability to participate constructively in certain projects (WP:SPAIN, for a while). However, your recent actions are slowing the progress of Wikipedia articles related to areas in which Catalan is spoken. Please take the next week to calm down. Physchim62 (talk) 16:32, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Censored

And this is because you don't have my same opinion in the France template and I refuted all your childish arguments, right? Way to go Mr Administrator. Your arguments here above are a perfect example of "neutrality". Your are using your Admin privileges to get the easy way to make your moves. Again, I tell you that your biased opinion towards the catalan side, makes you unworthy to deserve the privilege of being an admin. And still... Some weeks later, you haven't gave me the reason not to warn Toniher and Joanot for continuous reverts and unsourced edits.
Anyway... It's going to be funny for you to explain what made you take the decision just today... When I haven't been "uncivil" in maybe 3 days, but I defended the truth in articles like Vallespir and Nueva Planta decrees against your biased opinion. (Since when including a template about France in a french territory's article is pointless?). Maybe that made you feel bad in your catalan conscience, but it was nothing else but the truth. You weren't right and I was... You talk about my point of view on Catalonia-related articles... If that is your argument to block me, at least, explain me the charges with examples, and of course, you should PROVE that I am lying... Or aren't you able to do it? Is this censure? Who knows? Maurice27 21:22, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

Why did you (Maurice27) make this edit to Template:Spain Close Up so to include it into Nueva Planta decrees here? After all, when you proposed {{Information about Spain}}, the Nueva Planta decrees were not so important as to merit a place (which is equally my opinion). Why did you only choose to modify Vallespir here, and not the other four disputed articles, and then choose a single other article here later? This is not a question of censorship, this is a question of honest debate in good faith. Physchim62 (talk) 15:52, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

I knew it! I knew you blocked me just because of that template! You just don't deserve to be an administrator. You accuse me of POV, and you are the one abusing your privileges against me because we have different opinions in an article. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED! I made that edit because I thought your comments about the Nueva Planta decrees not being present in the template could be acceptable, so, I included it. I followed your "recomendation"... And because I did it (while your intention was to erase it) you BLOCKED me... That's a way to go...
Everybody is entitled to have their own opinions, people may be criticized to defend them in one or another way. I've been warned in the past for being uncivil, for namecalling (if calling someone "musketeer" is a sin), but what I can't believe is that a wikipedia administrator blocks anybody for having a different opinion. The funny thing is that in last days I haven't almost edited any single article (maybe 3-4) and limited myself to the talk-pages. Those 3-4 have been (what a coincidence) the ones where we have reverted one another. And, instead of "honestly debating" (those are your words) in the talk-pages before making changes (you didn't make any comment in them), YOU reverted my edits because they weren't in concordance with your "personal opinion". I say "personal opinion", because erasing a "France" template from a french territory's article while keeping a "Catalonia" template (which is CLEARLY and VOX POPULI not part of) can't follow any encyclopedic correct interpretation.
My only sin has been to confront "a group of people" (which you are clearly a part of, "forgetting" your mandatory neutrality) that are biasing and simple lying to the world (except Xtv), using all the ways to confuse and leading to mistake the readers of a bunch of articles with false history and facts. Someone reading the Vallespir, Roussillon, Northern Catalonia have great possibilities of believing they are part of Catalonia, and I'm pretty sure the wikipedia image will be considerably affected by that. And you, a wikipedia administrator, the one who is supposed to fight to protect that image, you are contributing with it!!!!. You will rather erase the "France" template (which is true) rather than the "catalonia" one (which is not).
As I said before, I was warned and then blocked for namecalling, and I can accept that as it is praiseworthy and even necessary. But what I cannot believe is that an administrator is abussing someone else with his privileges because of a different point of view. You just did that! I asked for your reasons, and your reply has any relation with your first accusation when you blocked me. And you talk me about GOOD FAITH??? SHAME ON YOU! Maurice27 18:23, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
Forgot to say that if I had edited all other 4 related articles, another edit war would had begin, most probably with you... Editing just one article (Vallespir already had 2 reverts from you... Maybe you're asking because that would had given you another reason to block me because of multiple edits... Am I wrong?Maurice27 18:34, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Images

Hi Maurice. I have just sent the below message to Casaforra. I wonder if you have any idea, since you are much more handy in these things than myself...

"Anyway, the motive of this post is that I am trying to upload the covers of the Radio Futura records in this article but I just find the whole thing quite confusing. I opened an account in commons and I uploaded these covers only to be warned some minutes after that "copyright bla bla". I said that they are only record covers, which means that they are eminently public, but they said that no way, that most record covers are subjected to copyright...so am I supposed to swallow that B.S. when I see all the other bands articles displaying the covers of their records?...

I don't know if the problem is that I am supposed to make a picture myself of the record cover and then upload it, instead of copying the cover from any other website. But, in any case I don't have these records here with me.

Now, do you know if there is a way to "smuggle" these covers without meeting "the copyright police"? I understand that there are copyright policies but in this particular case looks to me like non sense to claim that these covers are protected by copyright".

Thanks! Mountolive | Talk 00:25, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

I'm not pretty sure... but many times i've seen people using low-resolution images to avoid that problem. Here's an example of copyright:

This image is of a cover of an audio recording, and the copyright for it is most likely owned by either the publisher of the album or the artist(s) which produced the recording or cover artwork in question. It is believed that the use of low-resolution images of such covers solely to illustrate the audio recording in question, on the English-language Wikipedia, hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation, qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, may be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Fair use for more information.

To the uploader: please add a detailed fair use rationale for each use, as described on Wikipedia:Image description page, as well as the source of the work and copyright information.

Hope that helps... Maurice27 02:07, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Madrid

Hi, your recent addition to Madrid looks like it came from another article on the web. This could be seen as plagiarism/copying/whatever. Maybe see WP:COPY#Using_copyrighted_work_from_others and WP:COPY#If_you_find_a_copyright_infringement. It is a complicated issue... :-( Shenme 22:51, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

As you are completely correct, I have now added a reference to the author's work in the references section, see[[1]]. I have also sent him a requesting e-mail for his permission. Maurice27 23:26, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Deleting an article

Hi boss; once again I come to you for advice and wikinspiration...I found Campos, Mallorca and Campos (Mallorca). Obviously the latter should be deleted (there is nothing to actually merge) so my question this time is how to delete an article.

I could blank the page, but that would not delete the article (is this correct?) but in this case what is needed is a nice good old fashioned deletion. Do you know how to do that? Mountolive | Talk 01:05, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

I don't have any idea how to do that. Probably it must be done by an admin... --Maurice27 18:33, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
An admin? ¡con la Iglesia hemos topao! ;) bah, is not that important anyway. Thanks for the answer, Maurice. BTW, have you seen Emilio lately? Mountolive | Talk 05:01, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
No I haven't... I'm going to work now... I'll take a look this afternoon... --Maurice27 07:21, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
The simplest way to get a article deleted is to follow the procedure in WP:PROD. I have done this for Campos (Mallorca), thanks for spotting it. Otherwise, deletion policy is explained at WP:DEL. Physchim62 (talk) 11:36, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
Thank you Physchim. Someone should make an on line course in wikipedia procedures and guidelines...it can get complicated! ;) Mountolive | Talk 17:59, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
There used to be an on-line tutorial when I started editing (May 2004), but nobody seems to have kept it up to date. I can't even find it any more on a quick search for what newcomers would want to know. Another "problem" (or "benefit", depending on your PoV ;) is that, since then, we have had a huge increase in contributers from the blogging community and a significant increase in the number of articles: many of our rules have either been changed formally or have changed in the way that they are applied... If you are confused, try looking at Wikipedia:Five pillars: obviously different people interpret these broad guidelines in different ways, but the page itself gives links to the most important of Wikipedia's policies, which is useful in itself :) Physchim62 (talk) 16:06, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] GORA EUSKADI!

hope a spanish unionist like you can understand that there are more national realities in Spain than being from FAES —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 83.42.96.193 (talk • contribs) 02:22, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

A charming fellow I'm sure. I reverted your user page. Shenme 05:05, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
And what are the FAES? Fuerzas Aereas ESpañola??? (Spanish Air Forces???)--Maurice27 13:24, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
Everything can be an education (whether pleasant or not is another thing). It turns out FAES is in Wikipedia, and maybe what was being referred to was in this section, something about being against Catalonia devolution? Shenme 04:04, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
That section only refers about Euskadi in the ETA problem... maybe we should take a serious look on who 83.42.96.193 is.... --Maurice27 23:00, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
Unfortunately until there is enough of a 'trail' you can only speculate 'who' they are or what their real point of view is. As it is, they showed up once, made all these comments, and went away. From only one-time, it is hard to know what else they might have said, or even (!) discussed!   ;-)   It is possible they could come back on another IP address. Shenme 04:38, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
