MC Chill

MC Chill (born Vernon Johnson) or also known as Chill MC and Tha Chill, is an American rapper, from Compton, California. He began his career with rap group Compton's Most Wanted with MC Eiht, DJ Slip and DJ Mike T. As a youngster he was dropped out of high school so he started rapping with MC Eiht. They both were friends with MC Ren & Eazy-E from N.W.A.. MC Chill was a member of MC Eiht's gangsta rap group C.M.W but he was sentenced to prison in 1991, few months after recording the song "Growin' Up In The Hood", for the soundtrack of Boyz N the Hood movie. Chill got out of prison in 1994 but MC Eiht didn't consentrate on C.M.W anymore so Chill was no longer official member of Compton's Most Wanted and he had to start with solo career. In 2000 he started his own record label Bigfutt Entertainment where he released his solo album, Tha Wind Chill Factor. He's a member of Tragniew Park Compton Crips. MC Chill can be heard in C.M.W's song named This Is Compton.
