Medaković

Medaković or colloquially Medak (Serbian Cyrillic: Медаковић or Медак) is an urban neighborhood of Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. It is located in Belgrade's municipality of Voždovac. It located in the valley of the Mokroluški potok, south of the Belgrade-Niš highway and consists of two parts, Medaković II on the west and Medaković III on the east, divided by the Vojislava Ilića street. The combined population of the entire neighborhood was 23,691 in 2002.

Medaković II is the eastern and older section of the neighbrohood. It borders the neighborhoods of Marinkova Bara (west and north), Braće Jerković (south) and Medaković III (east). It is entirely residential area, with central part constructed of 10 half-sphered buildings, concentrated around the roundabout of the bus line 30. It had the population of 11,038 in 2002.

Medaković III is the western and newer section of the neighbrohood, mostly finished in the 1980s, but the full completetion (arrangement of the green areas, streets, etc) has not been done. It consists of cimilar, orange-white buildings with inclined, alpine-look rooftops. Medaković III is bordered by the neighborhoods of Medaković II (west), Padina (south) and Marinkova Bara (north, along the highway). It had the population of 12,653 (including some 2,000 in Padina) in 2002.
