Mega Man Anniversary Collection (Game Boy)

Mega Man Anniversary Collection, not to be confused with the identically named console compilation of Mega Man Classic series, is an as of yet unreleased compilation of five video games featuring Capcom's hero Mega Man, originally planned for the Game Boy Advance. Despite the identical name, this game collection is quite different, featuring colorized versions of the 5 classic Game Boy Mega Man games, including the Super Game Boy game Mega Man V. Players could also play them in their original black and white forms. The title was highly anticipated, as Mega Man IV and Mega Man V are exceedingly rare.
Each game is nearly identical: traverse eight themed stages to face off against boss robots, gain new weapons and abilities, then defeat the robots' master. The first four titles feature Robot Masters from the NES classic series, and Mega Man V feature planetary adversaries known as Stardroids.

Originally due to be released concurrently with the GameCube and PlayStation 2 Collections, the game had its release date pushed back several times, with no real explanation given. After rumors of development problems, and of the project's cancellation or transfer to Nintendo DS, the last release date given was February 15, 2006. But in January of 2006, gamers contacting Capcom were told that the game had been placed on "indefinite hold" (many consider this to be equivalent to cancellation). Capcom also began issuing refund checks to those who had ordered MMAC GBA directly through their online store (unlike most other online game sellers, Capcom charges the full amount at the time of purchase for pre-orders which are combined with orders for available items). Around the same time, several retailers, such as GameStop, declared the game "cancelled" and issued refunds or store credits.
As of January 25, 2006, some customers had received their checks (along with a letter from Capcom reiterating the "indefinite hold" status), while some were still waiting, and some were presumably unaware of the situation.
Many fans suggest that Capcom should save the game for Mega Man's 20th anniversary, as of course, the 15th anniversary has already passed and the 20th is approching quickly.
Wal-Mart apparently has this game available for pre-order, and states a release date of March 31st, 2007.
Metacritic.com states this game will have a release date of January 1st, 2007. These are the most recent dates that are known, though they are not directly from Capcom itself. It should also be noted than a release date of "January 1st," especially when so close with such little info, is often a filler date, and that that date has already passed.
Capcom confirmed on their US forums the game is not in production, mostly due to the costs involved in producing it.
