Meitar ( 31°19′N, 34°56′E; Hebrew: מיתר) is a small town north-east of Beersheba, in the Southern District of Israel. The suburb lies just south of the Green Line.
According to the Israel Central Bureau of Statistics, the population of Meitar was 6,500 on December 31, 2004. Its area is 17,000 dunams (17 km²).
