On a more personal note, I'm very pleased to see your energetic contributions on polytheism and Hellenic philosophy. I've been wanting to write a new article on Sallustius, in particular, and I'm glad to see you've started one! A word of caution, though, before you create new articles. Do take a few moments to make sure there isn't already an article in existence on the same subject. Wikipedia often has articles with surprising or counter-intuitive names. For example, you may feel that there should be an article on Neohellenism, but find that in fact one already exists called Hellenic polytheism that covers the same material. Instead of creating a new article on the same topic, just enter "#REDIRECT Hellenic polytheism" (without quotes) into the Neohellenism page, and anytime a person searches for Neohellenism in the future they'll be brought to the Hellenic polytheism page. That way, you don't need to reinvent the wheel, and you can get right to editing an article that somebody's already started.
Also, don't feel like you need to do a huge amount of writing for each article. Wikipedia articles emerge bit by bit, in a collaborative process. The idea isn't that you spend hours creating a polished essay (as I believed when I first became a Wikipedian), just that you constructively improve material as you see fit.
Happy editing, and feel free to ask if you've got any questions! QuartierLatin1968 20:01, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
