Metropolitan Community College (Kansas City)

Metropolitan Community College (MCC) is a community college located in Kansas City, Missouri that consists of five separate campuses. The five campuses have a total enrollment of over 10,000 [1] students per year.

- MCC-Blue River campus splits its locations between Independence, Missouri and Blue Springs, Missouri. The college joined MCC in 1997. As of 2006, the college enrolls over 2600 students per semester.
- MCC-Business & Technology was formed in 1995 as the Business & Technology Center when MCC centralized its business services and technical training into one facility. The center expanded and became a full fledged campus in 2002; it is now the largest campus in the MCC network by square footage.
- MCC-Longview opened in 1969. In 2001, Longview became the first community college to be selected as a TIME magazine/The Princeton Review "College of the Year"; Longview received the award in recognition of its Writing Across the Curriculum program.[2]
- MCC-Maple Woods was founded in 1969.
- MCC-Penn Valley was founded in 1968.
