Mia Tan

Mia Tan (born 30th November, 1980) represented her home country Singapore at Miss Globe International 2006 pageant in Albania.
She was then hijacked on flight Turkish Airlines Flight 1476 (TK 1476) on her way home. Escaping unscathed, she was thrown into media limelight along with fellow beauty queens, Miss Philippines and Miss Malaysia because of the shocking ordeal.

Having spent her childhood years at Singapore Chinese Girls School, she studied for her GCE 'A' levels at Anglo-Chinese Junior College and went on to finish her bachelor degree in Biology at the National University of Singapore.
Upon graduation in 2002, she went on to research work at the Agency for Science, Technology and Research A*STAR, but her passion for media and entertainment motivated her to take on acting classes in Theatre and Drama from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. Soon after, she appeared in local TV programs and a short film directed by locally acclaimed actor and aspiring director, Ix Shen, won 2nd runner-up in Panasonic Film Fest 05.
With her oriental look appeal, she has also worked with many photographers, locally and internationally, modeling for shoots and for Fashion TV.
Her bubbly personality jumps out when she gets free reign of the stage and she has ventured beyond the lens to play it up as presenter host, engaging the crowds at events.
