Micah Meisner

Micah Meisner is an award-winning music video director based out of Toronto, Canada. His cinematic style of magical realism and sophisticated collage-influenced editing has been applied to an array of revered artists from Metric to Broken Social Scene to K’naan to The Dears.
His unique work with K-OS and The Love Movement swept honors at the 2005 MuchMusic Video Awards with 8 nominations and 4 awards for Best Director, Best Rap Video, Best Pop Video and Best Cinematography, as well as Best Video at both the 2005 Junos and the UMAC Awards. In 2005, Micah was named Best Video Director by Now Magazine. At the 2006 Junos, Micah with the Love Movement was nominated for Best DVD for K-OS’ Publicity Stunt and he walked away with the Best Video award for his collaboration with Buck 65 for the video “Devil’s Eyes”. Most Recently, Micah’s Buck 65 video was nominated “Best Video” at the 2006 MuchMusic Video Awards where he also won Best Independent Video for his clip for Metric’s “Poster of a Girl”.
Micah has a filmmaking style that is daring and innovative. His videos have been personal collaborations between him and the artists. As a body of work, they are a collection of brilliant short films that chronicle the zeitgeist of the Canadian music scene over the last decade.
Micah is currently developing a series of film projects and plans to shoot his first feature in 2008.
