Michael Binger (born c.1977 in Delray Beach, Florida) is a part-time professional poker player, based in Atherton, California.
Binger graduated from North Carolina State University before receiving a PhD in theoretical physics from Stanford University in 2006. Just two months after receiving his PhD he outlasted almost 8,800 players in the WSOP Main Event, finishing 3rd and earning $4.1 million. Binger had previously reached a final table earlier that year, finishing 6th.
Since the WSOP Binger has finished in the money of three events, including a 16th place finish at the WPT Doyle Brunson North American Poker Classic where he earned $67,655. He also finished in the money at the WPT Pokerstars.com Caribbean Adventure.
As of 2006, his total live tournament winnings exceed $4,329,000
