Michael Cogdill

Michael Cogdill (b. 1961) is the current main news anchor for WYFF. Born in Asheville, N.C., he graduated cum laude from UNC-Asheville in 1984 with a degree in Communication. He has also written a book called Cracker the Crab and the Sideways Afternoon, available online at www.crackerthecrab.com. Recently, he was awarded the prestigious National Edward R. Murrow Award for Feature Reporting in Large TV Markets. Michael has also won 21 Southeast Regional Emmy Awards. He has just completed a novel entitled She-Rain, which he hopes will be published. He also enjoys public speaking to groups both large and small, and has received rave reviews for his speeches all over South Carolina.
