Michael John Kightly (born Basildon, Essex, January 24, 1986) is a footballer, currently playing for Wolverhampton Wanderers.

He completed a loan move to Wolverhampton Wanderers ahead of a permanent move in January after he agreed terms at Molineux on November 17, 2006. Kightly scored the winner against QPR in a 1-0 win to secure his first goal for Wolves, and first goal in the league, having played for Conference side Grays previously. Reports at the end of December said that Manchester United were after Kightly, dubbed 'The Ryan Giggs of non-league football'.^[1] However, Kightly signed a two-and-a-half year contract at Wolverhampton Wanderers, keeping him at Molineux until June 2009.^[2] He has also been reported as being tracked by Aston Villa, Portsmouth and Everton^[3] with a £2milllion value. Although Wolves are unlikely to sell the player at this time, his reputation amongst Premiership clubs is clearly growing rapidly.
