Michael Lew

Prof. Michael S. Lew is an influential scientist in multimedia information search and retrieval at Leiden University, The Netherlands. He has published over 7 books and 100 scientific articles in the areas of multimedia search, computer vision, human computer interaction, and information retrieval. Notably, he was the co-founder of influential conferences such as the International Conference on Image and Video Retrieval, and the IEEE Workshop on Human Computer Interaction. He is also on the official advisory committee for the TRECVID video retrieval evaluation project. His work is frequently cited in both scientific and popular news sources.
