Michael Wittig

Michael Wittig is best known as "Kalel," the bass player for the Christian hard rock band Pillar (who have won many Dove Awards). In 1992 he started trying to form a Christian band in his garage. The band was originally called Q: The Source (named after the Q document), but they eventually called it Godspeed for the release of their self titled EP (with fellow band members Mahlon Tobias and Robert Brouhard. He graduated from Riverside Polytechnic High School in 1994, and soon left to go to college in Oklahoma where he eventually met the people that he would form Pillar with.
Michael has two children and lives with his wife in Oklahoma.

- The June 94 (or June 93) issue of Flex magazine included a letter written by Michael and a picture of him showing off his muscles. Michael admits to using a sneaky angle with the camera to make his muscles look bigger.
