Michelle Richmond

Michelle Richmond is a fiction writer and essayist.
Richmond's first book, the story collection The Girl in the Fall-Away Dress, won the Associated Writing Programs Award for Short Fiction in 2000 and was published by University of Massachusetts Press in 2001. Her first novel, Dream of the Blue Room, was published by MacAdam/Cage [1] to critical praise in 2003.
Richmond was born in Demopolis, Alabama, grew up in Mobile, attended college in Tuscaloosa and Miami, and eventually settled in San Francisco, where she founded the online literary journal Fiction Attic.
Richmond's essays about Iceland, Argentina, China, Slovenia, and other destinations have appeared in many magazines and anthologies.
