[edit] History
Midnight is still in early development. Crossbeam Studios Entertainment are focusing their efforts on the video game Orb, however, they occasionally take time off to brainstorm for ideas on Midnight. Greg Nichols is the lead designer of Midnight and he occasionally gives additional insights into his plans for the game on the CSE forum under the username, "TheLastBoyscout".
[edit] Story
You play as the potential savior of mankind in a world overrun by vampires. After facing defeat against the vampires, humans now hide in the sewers. Using your sword, martial arts abilities, and new people found along the way you try to save mankind while learning about your estranged father and the secrets within you.
[edit] Gameplay
CSE has stated that Midnight is likely to receive an M rating. It has been described as "Zelda meeting Resident Evil." They plan to fully utilize the Wii's controller and nunchuk attachment. CSE has announced that Midnight will have the following features:
- Two playable characters involved in an epic, dark, macabre storyline
- Multiple combat strategies per character.
- 32 areas, including massive cities, desert wastelands, and mountain temples. [1]
It has also been revealed that a variety of objects can be used as weapons, from swords to wood to bones, but no firearms will be available.
[edit] Graphics
CSE has posted concept art on its official website. No ingame graphics are available yet.
[edit] Name Change
It may be that the game will change its name to Midnight, as there exists a Midnight forum on the CSE website but no forum for Darkness [2]This may be because of the game for the xbox360 and PS3 called The Darkness
