Mikael Ingemarsson Odenberg, born December 14, 1953, in Stockholm, is a Swedish politician of the Moderate Party. He has been a member of the Riksdag since 1991, and is the group leader of the moderates in the Riksdag. As of October 6, 2006 he is Minister for Defence in the Swedish Government. His sister Christina Odenberg is Bishop of Lund.
[edit] Military service
Mikael Odenberg started his military service July 23, 1973 at the coastal artillery at KA 4 in Göteborg. He finished with good grades August 30, 1974. He later took reserve officer education. As a Second Lieutenant he was educated at the Söderarm battery in the Roslagen archipelago. His plutoon leader was current Commander in chief Håkan Syrén. Odenberg is today a Major.[1]
