Mike Hurst (producer)

Mike Hurst, born 1943, musician and record producer. In the early 1960s he co-founded The Springfields, who had big hits with "Silver Threads and Golden Needles" and "Island Of Dreams". Then he had a band The Methods featuring Jimmy Page, then Albert Lee on guitar and Tony Ashton on keyboards. In the second half of the 1960s he began producing for Andrew Oldham ( Tony Rivers and The Castaways ) and Mickie Most (covers of American hits). He became very successful with artists like Marc Bolan, Cat Stevens, Manfred Mann, The Spencer Davis Group etc.
In 1970 he recorded two solo albums
