Mike Woods (born January 28, 1968 in Sacremento, California) is a metereologist for WNYW-TV. He reports the weather on Good Day New York and Fox 5 Midday.
Woods joined Fox 5 in June 2001, replacing previous GDNY morning meteorologist Dave Price.[citation needed] He also occasionally serves as a feature reporter. He is originally from Sacramento, California, but has lived in numerous parts of the country since 1993. Woods' career began in the south as the weatherman for the morning and noon shifts. During this time, he covered such weather events as Hurricane Bertha and Hurricane Fran, which left the southern tip mostly underwater.
Right before Mike Woods came to New York, he spent some time reporting the weather in the deserts of Arizona.
Woods attended college at the University of California at Davis. He received a degree in rhetoric and internal communications. While attending UC Davis, Woods developed a strong background in meteorology. He holds a Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society.[1]
At age 39, Woods is the figure of good health. He lives in New York City with his male companion.
