[edit] Quest
[edit] Vision
Quest students commit to a rigorous four year distinguished college preparatory program that encourages diversity of thought and scholarly endeavor. The academic independence of QUEST scholars culminates in a self directed Senior Project.
[edit] Program Components
- Engage students in real-world activities and experiences to apply and reinforce their academic skills.
- Enable students to use technology for research and to produce multi-media presentations.
- Require individual, on-going projects at each level of the program leading to a Senior Project.
- Weave cultural understanding and group skills throughout the curriculum so that the students will develop a strong sense of social responsibility and the ability to work well with a wide range of individuals and groups.
[edit] Senior Project: The Ultimate Culminating Assessment
Unique to the QUEST program, Senior Project is a powerful demonstration of a student’s academic achievement throughout their four years in the QUEST. This UC-approved course gives students an opportunity to explore an area of interest through completing an independent project with the guidance of a mentor, writing a research paper, producing a professional-quality multi-media presentation, and developing an academic portfolio. The project plunges the student into a real-world experience that demands goal-setting, time management, decision-making and communications skills, as well as a great deal of creativity.
[edit] Outcomes
Students who graduate from the QUEST program will:
