Miltenberg
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Miltenberg is a town in Franconia (Bavaria, Germany) on the river Main. Miltenberg is famous for being a regular stop of Frederick I, a famous Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire (though it may just be a legend).
In the Roman times, the limes passed through the vicinity, and there is a castellum at Miltenberg. The "Gasthaus zum Riesen" in Miltenberg claims to the be oldest hotel and restaurant in Germany.
The local area is celebrated for the German wines produced in the neighbouring vineyards.
