What is the source for the information that a Hindu temple will be built in Milan?
- I find it very curious that the author makes several references to Milan being a village when I can see no real distinction between Milan and, say... Moline, Rock Island, or any of the other local communities that identify themselves as cities, other than population. (And, as I'm sure the author is aware, the distinction of a village is not population.) As a point of fact, the communities of the Quad Cities Metropolitan Area are rightly categorized as towns. However, a rose by any other name... which brings me back to my original point of curiosity -- why does the author make so many references to Milan's being a village when they likely live in a miscategorized town? City envy? (He who lives in a glass house should not... eh, I forget the rest.) --Coreyjahns 03 April 2006 (UTC)
- Not to pile it on but it is a bit much that the author finds it necessary to phonetically pronounce the name of Milan, Italy. That is just a bit too provincial, I think. Indeed, the whole point of the message, however interesting the story, is overkilled by the phonetic pronounciation, and to my eyes at least, assumes that the reader is something less than intelligent. For example, why not just say that in Milan, IL the name is pronounced with a hard "i", as opposed to Milan, Italy, which everyone knows is pronounced with a soft "i"(?). At least that way the reader isn't treated like a retard. (Additionally, I very seriously question the accuracy of the author's rendition of the pronounciation of Milan, Italy. There is no way in the world an intelligent person would pronounce Milan in reference to the Italian city and have it sound anything like what the author would have you believe: "Me-LAWN"... ridiculous... If there is a Wikipedia Admin Overlord who looks at stuff like this, I respectfully request they remove that offending phrase.) --Coreyjahns 04 April 2006 (UTC)
