Description | The medal is in gold having an embossed border. Embossed at the Chief is a phrase "FOR SERVICE" in bold single stroke Gothic letters. At the portions of dexter and sinister flanks and center base, embossed in arc pattern in a phrase "MINDANAO AND SULU CAMPAIGN" in bold single stroke Gothic letters. Each embossed golden star is on both the dexter and sinister flanks. The shield is in gold relief placed in the center of the medal. Its chief is emblazoned with three horizontal lines wherein ten (10) vertical lines connect first and second lines and the third line connected between the two (2) vertical lines. The eagle, crossed Kris and kampilan are placed above the scroll.
All sculptures at the center represent moroland where the actual campaign was made. The service ribbon has green stripes in the center and pink stripes at both extremes. |

This is awarded to members of the AFP by the Chief of Staff, AFP, Commanders of Major Services and other units authorized to grant awards, for participation in the pacification campaign, operations in Lanao and Cotabato and other provinces in Mindanao with Task Force "LANCAF", "PAGARI", and "PAGKAKAISA", and such other similar Task Forces for a period of at least six (6) months: and for service and participation in law enforcement, military and civic action operations in the islands comprising Mindanao and Sulu and waters immediately adjacent thereto from 4 July 1946 for a period of at least six (6) months.
