Minnesota Valley Transit Authority

The Minnesota Valley Transit Authority (MVTA) is a public transportation agency that provides transit services in Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, Rosemount, and Savage. The name refers to the river valley along the Minnesota River. In 2002 Prior Lake withdrew membership fron the MVTA. These areas are in Dakota County and Scott County and are part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. The MVTA also provides express service from these areas to Minneapolis and St. Paul and local service to the Mall of America in Bloomington and the 46th Street Station on the Hiawatha Light Rail Line in south Minneapolis.

Routes 460, 464, 465, 470, 472, 476, and 477 make stops at any I-35W station between Bloomington and Downtown Minneapolis (inculding the Lake Street Freeway Station).
