Miss USA 2006, the 55th Miss USA pageant, was held in Baltimore, Maryland. Fifty-one state titleholders competed for the title, culminating in a final competition and coronation ball held on April 21, 2006 in the 1st Mariner Arena.
This was the second subsequent year that the pageant was held in Baltimore.
The pageant hosts were Nancy O'Dell (who had hosted the pageant in 2004 and 2005) and Drew Lachey. For the first time there was also a commentator, a role filled by Queer Eye for the Straight Guy star Carson Kressley.
Special guest performer was the East Village Opera Company
The finals were broadcast by NBC, with 7.75 million viewers, the second-lowest viewership ever recorded.[1]

Miss USA 2006 was awarded to Tara Conner (Miss Kentucky USA). The runners-up were:
- 1st runner-up - Tamiko Nash (Miss California USA)
- 2nd runner-up - Lisa Wilson (Miss Georgia USA)
- 3rd runner-up - Stacy Offenberger (Miss Ohio USA)
- 4rd runner-up - Cristin Duren (Miss Florida USA)
The Top 10 (in alphabetical order) were Haleigh Stidham (Miss Alabama USA), Candace Allen (Miss District of Columbia USA), Leeann Tingley (Miss Rhode Island USA), Lacie Lybrand (Miss South Carolina USA), and Lauren Lanning (Miss Texas USA).
The Top 15 (in alphabetical order) were Brenna Sakas (Miss Arizona USA), Catherine Warren (Miss Illinois USA), Katee Stearns (Miss Maine USA), Lauren Scyphers (Miss Nevada USA), and Lauren Grissom (Miss Tennessee USA).

A pre-pageant special edition of Deal or No Deal aired on April 12 on NBC.
