Route 88 ran from the Arkansas state line south of Pineville to Lanagan. In the mid-1960's, the highway was replaced by a new alignment of U.S. Route 71. The section west of Pineville to Lanagan is now Missouri Supplemental Route EE. In Lanagan, the original terminus was Route 1, later changed to U.S. 71, and is currently Route 59.
