Talk:Misconception

"People once thought that the sun, stars, and planets revolved around the Earth" can i get a source on this one? - ishmaelblues
It would be better to put something like, "Ancient scientists used to believe that the Earth was the center of the universe" 204.218.240.83 10:11, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] electric current and geocentricity
I don't know if this should be counted, as electric current is assumed to consist of positive charges moving, say, from the + to the - terminals of a battery, even though physically its negative charges moving the opposite way. I think its chosen this way for historical reasons.
Also, since phycics has proven that there is no absolute frame of referrence, one could say that the sun and stars "revolve" around the earth. Since reference points are arbatrary, we could just as well pick the earth as such a point. Its just more conveniont to use the sun as a stationary body. Nothing, however, is truely stationary —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.253.144.241 (talk) 21:53, 18 March 2007 (UTC).
