[edit] I also feel this is a racist event, and should have a topic about this listed
Obviously white and hispanic women would be banned from entering this event, clearly discrimination, should require a contraversy section.
[edit] Isn't it Racist ?
If there where a Miss Caucasian, or Miss Aryan, wouldn't it be 'Racist'? Why isn't Miss Black, then?
Racism is discrimination based on race with the belief that one's race is superior. I don't believe Miss Black America is a pageant about black superiority. There are also Miss Latina USA pageant and Miss Chinatown USA pageant among other ethnic pageants. sforest11
I THINK THAT IT IS RACIST THAT I COULD FIND NO INFO ON THE WEB CONCERNING THE 1978 MISS BLACK AMERICA PAGEANT OR THE WINNER, A MISS LYDIA JACKSON. I ATTENDED JUNIOR HIGH AND HIGH SCHOOL WITH LYDIA JACKSON. MY NAME IS MAURICE GRIMES, MY E-MAIL ADDRESS IS RUNAWAYMG@MSN.COM
I don't know if it is racist that a specific winner is not listed. I would request that someone update the list. I could not find a list of winners anywhere on the web. sforest11
[edit] The Green Duck
I saw her play "The Green Duck" in NYC and it was absolutely horrible. That isn't helpful, but I thought I'd mention it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.145.154.52 (talk) 21:37, 5 January 2007 (UTC).
[edit] Fixing?
There are some inconsistencies on this page that needed to be fixed up. First in the trivia part it stated that Gloria O. Smith from NY won in 1969, but yet on the "winners" box area above it says unknown. Also, back on that trivia part a Joyce Warner won in 1972, but again up above it says she won in the year 1971. I also notice a few more that needs to be corrected; I'm surprised no ones noticed before? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 208.31.45.49 (talk) 21:35, 9 March 2007 (UTC).
