Miyazaki (宮崎市 Miyazaki-shi?) is the capital city of Miyazaki Prefecture on Kyūshū island of Japan.
As of 2003, the city had an estimated population of 307,742 and a density of 1,072.42 persons per km². The total area is 286.96 km².
The city was founded on April 1, 1924.
It is a sister city to Virginia Beach.
