Born in Lynwood, Ca, Moises Jimenez, thrived in the overlooked punk nightlife of bordering cities like Compton and South Gate. By Junior high, "Mocherz" was already cutting class to “hang out” in the many abandoned homes, hospitals and train tracks. It’s in this environment were Mocherz began to reveal the irony and common stereotypes of living in an urban neighborhood. In high school his interest in art was detected and nurtured by his Art teacher, Anna Christensen.
Mocherz’ cluttered sketches are often a realization of the incredibly absurd world, we live in, they are raw, unfiltered, and comically distasteful. Themes range from fat kids in dough nut shops to the L.A. riots. Naivety and ignorance are common elements witch are rooted to his unconventional upbringing in Lynwood.
Currently he is attending the California Institute of the Arts and is on his way to receiving his Bachelors degree in Experimental Animation, where he is instructed by notable artists such as Maureen Selwood, Paul Vester, and Kirsten Winter. Recent exhibitions include The Burning Man Festival and various Guerrilla Drive-In's.
