Founded in 1998 by Sydney concert promoter Steve Pavlovic. The label came to most people’s attention on 2001, when they released Australian sample-based electronica act The Avalanches' debut album Since I Left You. In 2005 a London office was opened overseen by Phil Hutcheon Modular’s influential vice president. Van She, a new wave electropop four piece from Sydney were signed in August 2005.[2] Mid 2006 modular signed London’s New Young Pony Club.
