Montreal East (in French: Montréal-Est), is a town in southwestern Quebec, Canada on the Island of Montreal as part of the borough of Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles–Montréal-Est. The largest oil refinery in Canada is located here.
On January 1, 2002 it was merged into the City of Montreal. It voted on June 20, 2004 to demerge and was re-established as a town on January 1, 2006. It was the only community in the eastern half of the island that voted to demerge. Montreal East's mayor, Yvon Labrosse, won his seat by acclamation.
