[edit] Mont Blanc Tunnel and Mont Blanc Tunnel fire
Note that the article mostly covers the tunnel fire. What about the tunnel itself?
- My feelings exactly. I wanted to know about the engineering, design, and integration into the Eurpoean motorway system. The extensive information about the fire is interesting, but because it is so lengthy it should be broken into a seperate entry.--Black Orpheus 22:34, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
- Quite agree. —Steve Summit (talk) 03:23, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
- I agree too. JCase 21:17, July 13 2006 (EDT)
- Disagree, there is little information on the tunnel as it is, moving this would leave this article without any real information.
- Perhaps when the article is sufficiently longer Rob.derosa 06:47, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
- I agree even though there it little information about the tunnel without the information about the fire, especially as i to am researching into the engineering and design. Also with little information available people maybe more inspired to add some
- I agree it's an important issue so it should have its own article Gelpiac 21:18, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
- I would suggest a page on Tunnel Fires in general. In recent years there have been fatalities in many tunnels (Tunnel / Year / Deaths) - links below are only to pages describing the fire.

- I would agree that a split (with summary, and "Main Article:" link) makes sense -- Blorg 14:11, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
- I disagree with a split. It's not necessary because the info is relevant here and the article is not unwieldy long. -- P199 17:46, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- No consensus - Removed split tag. -- P199 18:02, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Degrave/Degreaves
The truck driver's name is written in multiple ways throughout the article, which is accurate?--68.96.240.146 13:25, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
- You are right. If you google either name, you get many hits for each. Will try and look deeper. Lovellester 20:37, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] How many Deaths
it says that 27 people died in their vehicles and 10 people died on foot, then says of the 50 people trapped only 12 lived, Where's the other guy?
Presumably the firefighter meantioned who died later on?
[edit] Separate Page, where have we got to?
Don't think that a separate page would be helpful to readers. The information is an integral part of the tunnel's history. Best to put it here, if it gets too long then think again about new page, Lovellester 20:30, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Non-fire tunnel history
Before exploring a split, it may be advisable to add info on the tunnel design and engineering as well as history prior to 1999. This info is already available in the French and Italian Wikipedia articles and should be translated from either or both. Then a split can be seriously considered... Ranma9617 03:39, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
- Info added. Still, I don't support a split. -- P199 17:46, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
As the one who posed the original question before I created an account, I do not support a split, but I am glad to see that more information about the tunnel itself has been added over the last year. Group29 20:56, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Through Which Mountain?
The opening line says "near the Mont Blanc mountain" whereas the thrid sentence says the "Mont Blanc Tunnel runs beneath the mountain"... so does it go under Mont Blanc or not?
