Moses Gate Railway Station serves the Moses Gate suburb of Farnworth, part of the borough of Bolton, England.
It lies on the Manchester-Preston Line, though only local services run by Northern Rail call here.
Until the late 1970's (see British Rail Timetable 1973, 1974 and 1978), Moses Gate was one of the more important stations on the line between Manchester Victoria and Bolton, with Sunday service and high patronage. But due to clearance of much housing in the area ([1]), use has declined (see Strategic Rail Authority figures 2004/05) although it retains an hourly service (see National Rail Timetable 2006). Moses Gate is the nearest station to the village of Little Lever.
[edit] Service
From Moses Gate there is an hourly service northbound to Wigan Wallgate and southbound to Rochdale railway station via Manchester Victoria.
There is no evening and Sunday service.
