Motionhouse

Motionhouse is a contemporary dance company based in Leamington Spa in the United Kingdom.
Founded in 1988 the company is run by Artistic Director Kevin Finnan and Executive Director Louise Richards.
Typically the company employs 4-6 dancers to work on its touring productions. Although they have toured internationally their main focus is on touring around the UK.
Quanitifying exactly the type of work the company creates is very difficult. It is best described as 'physical' and based around a large amount of 'flying' and catching'. The company frequently uses custom built stages to present its work. This is especially true of their current work, 'Perfect' (2005), which is performed on a custom built stage covered in sand.
In addition to touring across the UK the company also engages in a wide range of educational activities in schools and creates large scale, site specific performances, also called 'promenade performances' in outdoor venues. One of the most recent was entitled "Road to the Beach" which featured hundreds of performers from local schools and a dance featuring 4 mechanical diggers.
