I dissagree that this article should be deleted for irrelevance. First of all, Mt. Lebanon Percussion is renowned as one of the best percussion ensembles in the country due to its selection for MENC. They were THE ONLY percussion ensemble selected to perform at this NATIONAL event. They are also a Malletech Artist Ensemble (only one of three). For those who are unaware, Malletech is arguably the best marimba manufacturer in the world. To have a high school group selected for this honor is truly amazing, and is relevant for entry into Wikipedia. Also, their commissioning series helps thousands of other percussion ensembles, high school and other, play music that they may not have access to otherwise. If any percussionist is interested in Mt. Lebanon Percussion because of their appearance at MENC, their recognition from Malletech, or their commissioning series, they will surely check out this article in wikipedia. They are also very famous in the Pittsburgh area, and are requested for numerous private and public performances in and around the city Pittsburgh. If those who are interested in booking them for a performance, they will want to look at the wikipedia page. They are also attached to the band Rusted Root through instructor Jason Miller. Many fans will be interested in viewing this page. They are THE ONLY high school percussion ensemble to be placed on such a national stage. Being one of the best, most recognized high school percussion groups in the nation, they are certainly worth a page in Wikipedia.

Let me give you some sources, as mentioned in the discussion for deletion page.

The group's website is [1] <-- there will be a plethora of information asserting the group's notoriety. There you will here Mt. Lebanon described by WQED (Pittsburgh's local NPR affiliate) a "...a success beyond belief." WQED also plays Mt. Lebanon Percussion's Christmas songs during the holiday season. It also mentions the adjudication panel for the Golden Gate Music Festival in San Francisco, CA. describing Mt. Lebanon Percussion as "One of the finest examples of music education we have ever seen."

Here is Mt. Lebanon Percussion mentioned in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette (Pittburgh's major newspaper) [2]

There are also a dozen or so article's on Mt. Lebanon Percussion from the Post-Gazette and the Tribune Review (another major news source in Pittsburgh), but are not stored online. If they are needed to save this page, I will be able to borrow them from someone, scan them, and send them in as further evidence of their notoriety.

Finally, let me cite the Wikipedia guidlines for deletion.

It says "Has won or placed in a major music competition." Aforementioned, Mt. Lebanon Percussion has been selected above all other collegic and highschool percussion groups in the nation to be invited to MENC. Furthermore, the guidline states, "Contains at least one member who was once a part of or later joined a band that is otherwise notable; note that it is often most appropriate to use redirects in place of articles on side projects, early bands and such." Jason Miller is the current drummer for Rusted Root, and is a staff member at Mt. Lebanon.

HELLO ADMINISTRATORS: This is the author again. I need help. Being a novice Wikipediaer, I don't know how to put a footnote in the article, with the reference being down under the Notes and Reference section. Here is my reference source: http://www.mostlymarimba.com/bin/news.php. It's a press release from Malletech about Mt. Lebanon Percussion. If someone could tell me how to do this, or actually do the referencing, that would be fantastic. I think the most appropriate place for it is after the last paragraph in the section titled "Malletech". Thank you so much, and I hope we can work something out with the article itself.

Not an administrator, but done. I added <ref>{{cite web | url=http://www.mostlymarimba.com/bin/news.php | title=News & New Releases | work=MostlyMarimba | accessdate=2006-06-20}}</ref> at the end of the sentence where I felt the footnote should go. That puts a footnote down in the References section at the bottom of the article. The syntax is pretty straightforward: URL, title, and work (site name) of the web site, and accessdate is the date I pulled up the page. —C.Fred (talk) 03:39, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
